In today’s world of automated machinery and mass production, we have made a deliberate choice to do things the old-fashioned, traditional way. Every cabinet, piece of millwork, and custom furniture item we build is created using traditional hand craftsmanship from start to finish.
The process begins with careful board selection. We personally sort through the lumber, choosing each board based on grain pattern, color, and quality. This hands-on selection ensures that only the best material goes into your project.
Once the wood is chosen, we move into fabrication using time-honored techniques of joining and plaining in order to create perfect pieces for every project. Every cut is laid out by hand with marking gauges and knives. We cut dovetails individually, fitting each drawer perfectly to its opening. Our raised panel doors are shaped using traditional methods and then meticulously hand-sanded to achieve smooth, crisp profiles that machines simply cannot match.
During assembly, the same craftsmen who fabricated the parts put everything together with great care. Every component is checked and adjusted until it fits perfectly. Nothing leaves the bench until it meets our standards.
Finishing is also done entirely by hand in our own shop. We apply multiple coats of Renner Italian 2k finishes, carefully sanding between each one to create a beautiful, durable surface. Because we control the finishing process, we can ensure the final look matches the clients wishes.
The same team that selects the lumber, builds the piece, and applies the finish is also responsible for the installation. This complete hands-on approach means the people who know the piece best are the ones putting it into your home.
This traditional method takes considerably more time than modern production methods. However, we believe the difference is clear the moment you open a drawer or close a cabinet door. There is a warmth, quality, and soul in true handcrafted work that cannot be replicated by machines.
